How do we help?

We provide a comprehensive range of business support and microloan funding for start-ups and small businesses. In doing so we enable people who cannot access finance, through the usual channels, to realise their potential for the benefit of themselves and their families.

Hey – where are you all – you Trade Places 12? Cannot see any updates except from me ….
Burns Night tonight and I enjoyed free Haggis, Neeps and Tatties at my Dad’s (Dad is 92 and very Glaswegian) also my brother Billy and son Spence joined the party. I read parts of Tam O’ Shanter (1790), To a mouse (1785) and ‘My Love is Like a Red Red Rose’ written in 1794. Billy addressed the Haggis (written 1786). No TV but pure entertainment.

Robbie Burns knew how to live on very little and I am learning to do the same this Trading Places week. Still it is surprising how much we take for granted. Many of our clients have no assets to fall back on when things go wrong ….

Off to Sidmouth this afternoon with a friend … she is driving … Might have some chips by the seaside – can I afford it? Not sure – I am keeping all my receipts so far. Luckily just had lots of left-over cheesecake for lunch. And this morning my Dad sponsored me for £5 – first sponsorship donation for the 2012 challenge – help us by visiting Give as You Live Trading Places Challenge 2012!

Well look I spent £34 on first day of challenge and that wasn’t even on myself …. this is tricky … do I hold my hand out to grown-up children for treats I bought for their Murder Mystery Party? Do I claim the £5 back for the tiny collar & lead for new puppy? Probably not – I am going to take the hit on this and a salutary lesson – when you live on JSA you just cannot treat anybody! How sad is that? On the up side … there is quite a lot of food left from the party to keep me going.

I’m starting to get my head around the shopping – we have friends with chickens, who give us free eggs, so I’m looking at egg recipies! My birthday on Monday – do i really need anything – I don’t think so.

Have now obtained quote from BUPA to have jaws wired together for one week. Am intending to try liquidised soup and angel delight for the challenge. And may be a large Scotch on the final day. Very large, probably. Huge, in fact.
